FAQ

We partner with states to obtain millions of medical claims from every commercial insurance. The data from the states comes directly from insurance companies who are required to provide this information.
We provide you a few different costs. We provide patients with the cost of what the hospital or facility will charge you if you don’t have insurance. If you do have insurance, we will give you two numbers. The total cost is how much in total both you and your insurance company combined will pay for a service. The patient cost is how much you will be expected to pay out of pocket. This cost is different for each person. For instance, if you have not met your deductible, you need to reach it before insurance kicks in.
We can’t give the exact cost because we don’t know exactly how the hospital or facility will bill the service. However, we look at millions of claims to come up with an estimated cost and show you ranges as well. We advise patients to call the facility and their insurance provider directly and to use our tool as guidance.
We use quality data from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which provides service quality information on hospitals and facilities as well as patient survey data as well. We recommend talking to your doctor about a facility you are planning to go to.
Healthy Price wants to provide cost information to everyone. How come I do not see cost information on a certain medical test or service? There are tens of thousands of billing codes and there are many ways to bill a medical service or visit. We release new information once we feel we have provided a good product for patients.
Not right now, but we hope to continue to grow and expand to pharmacy and dental services.
